How we met & GoT ENGAGED
The romantic tale of Eveline and Brian's connection began through the algorithmic stylings of the dating app Coffee meets Bagel. Their first meet up-- in true NYC fashion-- started when Eveline was several minutes late because she had just come from dumping some other guy, while Brian went immediately from the bar meeting to a second-- and far less successful-- date at another bar around the corner.
Fast forward a couple years, and other than the fact they don't have a cat, things were going great. So Brian hatches a plan to pop the question and throw Eveline a surprise engagement party. This turns out to be an extremely stressful decision, as Eveline unknowingly tries to sabotage the event by unexpectedly spending 7 hours on a Saturday lining up dance workshops for school children. Brian in the meantime was covertly yet nervously reorchestrating plans for his proposal and a party involving dozens of people. In the end though -- it all worked out -- and the warm spring evening was perfect for tears, bubbly, and dancing.
After a lazy spring of dating, things got serious during the hot summer months, when they irresponsibly decided to travel illegally to
Cuba together. Other than a nasty bout of food poisoning for Eveline, it turned out to be a great idea as the new couple was soon in love amid the haze of cigar smoke, minty mojitos, and forced revolutionary era nostalgia. More travels were booked soon after, and Brian even got
Eveline into camping.
